What is the REEL?

For more than 40 years, the Réunion Européenne des Étudiants Luxembourgeois (REEL) has been a fixed event in the calendar of Luxembourg students. Every year, around 150 students from across Europe come together for four days to exchange ideas, discuss and make new contacts. It is a unique opportunity to meet representatives from politics and business. Not only are current student issues addressed, but the challenges facing our generation are also discussed.

The REEL is organised in cooperation with ACEL and each year focuses on a theme that is relevant to students, engages them and will have an impact on their future. Around this theme, various workshops, exchanges with experts and discussions with political and economic representatives are organised, where ideas are exchanged and solutions are sought. In the past, REEL participants have often demonstrated their sense of responsibility, with solution approaches to various problems emerging at REEL, and some legislative projects even having their origins there.

But REEL is much more than just a political event – it is also an opportunity to get to know the local culture, breweries and wine better. Furthermore, REEL offers students the chance to meet new people and reconnect with old colleagues who are otherwise spread across Europe. When it comes to one’s personal future in the professional world, REEL can also be of benefit. Through direct exchanges with partner companies, internship and job opportunities have already arisen.
